It was only hitting 1pm as the bar re-opened for the first time in months this afternoon, but already a socially distanced queue was forming where customers were giving their details for contact tracing and then taken to their seat. People walking the streets were laden down with shopping bags, while others nipped into a pub to have a pint, and a meal, while festive tunes played in the background. All the staff are delighted and keen to be back as well. Which is great. Next stop is the Old Storehouse in Temple Bar.
Found it by accident. Went in and ordered a ceaser salad and garlic bread - it was delicious. My husband had a steak sandwich and it was equally as good.
Lovely friendly staff in such a busy environment. Highly recommend it. Prices not too bad either. I have recently frequented the Grand Central but have never recieved service like I have had since Igor has begun to serve my friends and I! He is fun, friendly and always remembers our names and orders. This personal touch has not gone unnoticed and as such we have returned to the grand central on a regular basis! Well done Igor.
My friends and I think a promotion is surely due! The restaurant was recommended by the hotel where I stayed and I must say that it is a nice and beautiful place. The waitress was really thoughtful and solicitous. The food is tasty and abundant and Irish style.
Meal on a cold wet evening - grand central
This historic building is a warm and friendly pub that has a bar at the corner and is connected to it's restaurant which is adjacent. The pub is classic with stone and metal accents as is was bank at one time.
The main area has a great domed ceiling and the bar staff is super friendly as are most of the Irish you will meet. Get a pint of Guinness and enjoy the Irish company. Then if you need a meal. The prices are reasonable and the food is great. Plans on spending some time here.
We are first time visitors to Dublin. We are a family of four with two teenagers traveling with us. The Grand Central is conveniently located off the Abbey Street stop of the local tram in downtown Dublin.
We decided to stop in for lunch. The food and service was fantastic!
We went back the next day to give it another try. The food and service was great again.
